Having acquired her subject, Lucy the Toad Whisperer imparts soothing words on Mr. Toad.

Lucy Did Something Bad

Lucy's Mom left her alone in the house for awhile today. When she returned, what was left of Mom's favorite garden hat was on the floor. Mom scolded her and, when Dad came home from work, he didn't give her her nightly biscuit. Lucy was sorry for what she had done.

Later on, Mom and Dad took Lucy for a long walk at Chatfield Hollow State Park, so she's not sad anymore.

Trip to Sandwich

Lucy had her first trip to the Cape. She's not quite old enough to go without a leash, and she still needs a "Gentle Leader" collar to help her mind her manners.

She sat quietly while her parents ate at a Cafe.

Later in the nice motel that takes only good dogs, she enjoyed her new Nylabone - for about 2 hours.

Then, since she was on vacation, she tried out a new hair style.

March 23, 2011

Lucy's first birthday was March 23. She got to wear a green wreath courtesy of her adoptive mother, then got pumpkin cake. Lucy eats pumpkin every day to help with a (ahem) canine digestive problem.

She wouldn't let us light the candle. Stay, Lucy!

Well, the snow has stopped for awhile and Lucy is confined to playing in the channels we've shoveled or stomped for her around the yard. Because the snow is higher than our back fence in places, we have to be careful the ball (and then Lucy) doesn't slide over the fence and down the hill.
